Great service. Aaron, George and the guys at PB Foreign did it again. I dropped my car off for the rear brakes at 8:00 AM this past Friday, and it was ready for me to pick up by noon.
I bought my car new four years ago, and it has 70,000 mi on it. The reason I brought it down to PB Foreign is because 3,500 miles ago the guy at the Instant Oil change place said he thought I had about 5% left on my pads. Not quite. Aaron called me up about an hour after I left it there and said I could probably go another few months without doing it if I wanted to save the money. I decided to have the work done anyway, and not only did they get me in and out quickly the price was very reasonable too.
Another thing, everyone there is really honest. For instance, the other day I asked George if he still did wheel alignment. He told me he didn't, and suggested another place for me to go. Before I bought a new car, PB Foreign was taking care of my old clunckers for the last 15 or so years. Great people to do business with. They have the same mechanics working in the shop for a long time, which to me means they must be treating their people well.

Pacific Beach Foreign Auto is awesome! I have had trouble with the check engine light coming on. The guy here has been so nice and helped me by not even charging me for the diagnostic part. He has been so helpful and always charges way less. I have referred friends and they too have had the same experience.

I initially came to PB Foreign and Domestic Car Repair last year to get my spark plugs replaced, based on several positive Citysearch reviews. I had a good experience (although I ended up being out $500...stupid cars), but I wasn't sure if I would keep coming to them as they were a little out of my way.
Well, I will be returning because of my experience with my most recent repair to replace two oxygen sensors. Aaron, the mechanic, is incredibly patient and honest. He clearly explains all the repairs that you need and why you need them, and instead of replacing multiple parts unnecessarily, he fixes them sequentially to make sure that it is really that part that needs to be replaced. I had initially taken my car to G Win on Miramar after my engine light went on because it was closer and more convenient for me, but I really regret wasting my time. After an extremely difficult time understanding what was wrong with my car, I found out that my two front oxygen sensors were malfunctioning and I was quoted $470 at G Win to have them both replaced. I couldn't believe that both would fail at the same time, so I returned to PB Foreign and Domestic Car Repair to have the diagnostic test repeated. Aaron repeated it at no charge, tested both sensors, found that they both were indeed malfunctioning, and explained to me clearly what he was going to do. He replaced them both for $260 total (after using a $40 off coupon I found on their website), parts and labor included, and he did it in two hours, versus the six hours they told me it would take at G Win. In total, Aaron saved me over $200, and based on his previous work on my car, it is a quality job.
The shop is a little hard to get to, as they have a really tiny lot in the middle of PB, but it is worth it to get such honest service.

I dropped my daughter off at UCSD. I had just traveled from San Jose, CA to San Diego when my Suburban's water pump started to give out. Not knowing where to go locally, I first went to the local dealer. They quoted me over $800.00 for the job and after waiting a few hours had not even started on the job! Frustrated, I called my husband who found PB through a web search. PB's cost was approximately 1/3 of the dealer cost! They also finished the job within the time allocated. Since, the car has not given me any problems. I am 100% satisfied with the work.

Great Service at Reasonable Prices
I have been taking my cars to PB Foreign since 1994 and have received the best service over the years. The technicians there have fixed numerous problems I have had over the years, and almost always finish the job the same day (if you drop the car off early). George and Aaron have always treated me well and have good records on the vehicles I have brought to them. They have even told me that some of the repairs I was considering weren't worth doing. If you are new to the area, or want quality car care without paying dealer prices, take your car to PB Foreign.

I wasn't certain what my next step was regarding my car problem. George and Aaron were real professionals who answered all my questions when I phoned them and came into their shop. They made a point of never rushing me and gave me enough feedback so that I could make an informed decision. This is in sharp contrast to the Firestones of the world who always give me the impression that they want to do free inspections so that they can create fear and offer high priced often unneeded repairs. Bottom line: Go to PB Foreign for professional work, quality customer service and competitive prices (it never hurts to get a few quotes from a few quality shops).

If you blink while driving down Garnet, you may miss this place, but don't be fooled. PB Foreign & Domestic is excellent and I highly recommend them.
I'm always a bit leary of car repair places, yet when I recently brought my car in, I felt at ease. They diagnosed the problem, explained it thoroughly and in less that 24 hours were finished with the work.
The prices were reasonable and they were quick to honor a coupon I found on their website.They are professional, friendly, good at what they do, and respectful of the importance of getting your car back quickly.
For one of the first times ever, I felt completely confident getting my car fixed to be a hassle-free pleasant experience. I will definitely be back.
